Paul Pracy

Consultant - Head and Neck / Reconstruction Surgeon

Paul is a Consultant ENT / Head and Neck Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. His main clinical interests are in endoscopic and open partial laryngectomy as well as parotid surgery. Paul has been on the faculty of numerous ENT and Head and Neck Courses. He is the co-founder of the Birmingham Part III revision course and the co-founder and Director of the European Head and Neck Course.

Paul is also a board member of the European Board Exam in ORL. He is a Past President of the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists and President of the ENT UK Head and Neck Society. He is currently involved in setting up a UK Head & Neck Patient Advocacy Group. Paul has developed links with Head and Neck Surgeons in Africa and is working with colleagues to help train Head & Neck surgeons in Malawi and Rwanda.

Satyesh Parmar MBE

Consultant - Oral and Maxillofacial / Head and Neck / Reconstruction Surgeon

Sat was appointed as an Oral and Maxillofacial / Head and Neck / Reconstructive Surgeon at the University Hospital of Birmingham in 2003. He is one of the directors of the European Head and Neck Course and the Head and Neck Oncology for Surgeons courses. He is a board member for the European Head and Neck Society.

He is a council member for the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists (BAHNO) and President elect for BAOMS

He was the chair for AOCMF for the United Kingdom and a former European Board member for AO. AO is a multi-specialty community consisting of clinicians from all around the world, with different backgrounds and areas of expertise. AO is a world leader in surgical education and training. He carries out most aspects of general Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery but his sub-specialist interest is Salivary Gland/Head and Neck Cancer and Reconstruction. He also has an interest in implant rehabilitation for head and neck cancer patients.

Professor Jo Patterson

Jo Patterson is Professor of Speech and Language Therapy and Associate Head of Research of the School of Health Sciences, University of Liverpool, Honorary Professor at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Liverpool University Hospital Foundation Trust. She is a Fellow and Professional Advisor for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. She leads the Improving Patient Outcomes theme at the Liverpool Head and Neck Centre, which aims to optimise functional outcomes and quality of life in head and neck cancer. Public and patient involvement is integral to her research programme. Jo is highly committed to increasing research capability and capacity for Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals, and expediting the translation of evidenced-based care into clinical practice.
